Stephen P. Laird, MD, MS
After completing his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship Dr. Laird pursued his dual interests of clinical education and research focusing on colon cancer screening and treatment. A love of the Vail Valley brought him to Colorado Mountain Medical part-time in 2005. He was then serving on the faculty at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. In 2008 he and his wife and three young children moved to the Vail Valley.
Dr. Laird practices a broad spectrum of gastroenterology and hepatology and welcomes patients with a wide array of gastrointestinal concerns including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), reflux disease, colon cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and hepatitis. He performs a large volume of gastroenterology procedures including colonoscopy, endoscopy, biliary procedures and hemorrhoid banding and works at the Vail Valley Surgery Center, Valley View Hospital and Midvalley Surgery Center.
Dr. Laird’s philosophy in treating patients is to keep their interests first while practicing evidence-based medicine.
